Hey there. Welcome back to Pacer talks about bullying. I'm Bailey; thanks for joining us.
This month we're talking about all things Pacer. Last week we gave you tour of Pacer and shared a little bit more about what we do as an organization. In this week's episode we're going to dive deeper into how the National Bullying Prevention Center helps. Let's get into the episode.
The first way that the National Bullying Prevention Center helps is by promoting a shared conversation and response to bullying. It's not just one organization or one school or one community's responsibility; it's up to all of us. When we work together we can create safe and supportive environments for students. Since Pacer believes that bullying prevention is a community issue we provide resources and inspiration to the entire community.
How do we do that? By providing specific tools for everyone involved, which we'll break down a little bit further in the next four ways. The second way is by offering classroom activities and toolkits and resources for educators. These are available for our K through 12th grade students and is an awesome opportunity to start the conversation about bullying in your classroom.
The third way that the National Bullying Prevention Center helps is by providing informative guides for parents. This can cover topics everywhere from understanding the dynamics of bullying, helping your child through a bullying situation, to learning how to best communicate with school staff. We know that bullying is a difficult situation to navigate and we're here to help.
The fourth way is by providing students with age appropriate resources and information on how to manage a bullying situation, be supportive of their peers, and take action to prevent bullying in their schools, communities, and online. When students own bullying prevention as their own social cause they can make a huge difference.
And a fifth way is by creating schoolwide opportunities to address bullying, such as national bulling prevention month in October or unity day, which falls on the third or fourth Wednesday of October; this year it's October 25th. These are both initiatives that were created by the National Bullying Prevention Center and are an awesome opportunity for an entire school or an entire community to join together against bullying.
And those are five of the ways that the National Bullying Prevention Center helps. We're here for you, for students, educators, parents, and community members. When we all work together we can create social change so that bullying is no longer an accepted childhood rite of passage. And while that wraps up this week's episode make sure to join us right back here next week. And remember, when we stand together no one stands alone. See you.
