Hey, welcome to PACER talks about bullying. I'm Bailey. Come on in.

We are so excited to be launching a brand-new series where we'll be coming to you every week to talk about all things bullying. But before we get started, you may be wondering what's PACER Center? Well, I'm glad you asked. Let me take you on a tour and share little bit more about what we do. Come on.

Here at PACER, it's our mission to expand opportunities for kids and young adults with disabilities. PACER has been around for over 40 years and supports families of children with disabilities through individual assistance, workshops, free publications and so much more. We have over 30 programs including our parent advocacy program, our housing and transition program, children's mental health, our puppet program, and our Simon technology center. Yes, we do have robots. Come on. Let me show you some more.

So you may be wondering, where does bullying come into the play of things? Well, PACER first started looking at the issue of bullying back in the early 2000's as students with disabilities are two to three times more likely to be bullied than their peers. As we really dove into the issue, we realized this was an issue that impacted all students. We started creating resources for students and parents, community members and educators. And in 2006, we formalized our efforts and created the National Bullying Prevention Center. Now let's wrap up this tour. Follow me.

We'll be coming to you every week with informative content, resource ideas, interviews and so much more.
