Our organization hosts community workshops and seminars that directly address bullying and crosscutting issues. In April 2016, Dr. Thomas was interviewed on television about the bullying and child sexual abuse prevention programs he provides for local elementary schools. He lobbies elected officials to support these efforts and make much-needed reforms. He continues to provide free seminars at senior living facilities and will again convene a free community workshop geared to older people who are also victims of bullying behavior. In October, our organization will join PACER and host its second annual community walk and rally against bullying. |

Our school will be participating in Unity Day on October 19th and Blue Shirt Day on Monday, October 3rd. Our school counselor will also conduct classroom guidance lessons on ways to stop bullying and the importance of treating others with respect. |

Lockhart School's Performing Artists In Action For Peace Club |
Sept.19-23 we will lead the entire student body in several Peace Week activities, including making a Peace & Unity Tapestry to be carried during our March for Peace Day on Sept. 21. Throughout October we will have skits, chants, and art activities reinforcing our Be Buddies-Not Bullies theme. On October 19 we will lead a mega Bullying Prevention /SAVE Our Schools membership drive in conjunction with Safe Schools Week. We are the only chapter of National Save in the USVI since 2014(Chapt#2104). |

Exceptional Families Network / Special Families of Puget Sound |
We are a Washington nonprofit organization working with families who have children with special needs. A majority of those exceptional children have some form of autism, but we welcome any diagnosis, disability or difference. We support, educate, and empower exceptional families and our community to create an inclusive environment for children with special needs. We hold monthly Support meetings in Pierce; Thurston and King Counties, with more projected in 2016/2017. In addition, we have several monthly events and workshops for our families as well quarterly and annual events. We have an upcoming #Dare2BExceptional walk against bullying on May 7, 2016 and #Dare2BExceptional Bully Awareness Month kick off by taking over Barnes & Noble in Lakewood Towne Center. |

Allies In Action (An elementary anti-bullying after school group) |
Allies In Action is a program for 2nd-5th graders teaching how to be an ally; to oneself, others and the community. Students explore leadership skills, conflict resolution, team building and self-awareness through experiential exercises and art.
On October 13th, Allies In Action will be hosting a school event to paint Peace Rocks to spread throughout the community. The theme will be Radical Empathy. This event will help get students excited for Unity Day and engage families. Additionally, Allies In Action is partnering with the school Geiger Montessori ASB club to continue to promote and create a safe, inclusive school community. |

During PE we talk about being a buddy, not a bully. We role play, and each student receives a pencil to remind them to be kind. We have a bulletin board with a positive message, and pledges to take a stand and lend a hand. |

The ASB is going to join our Allies In Action club in painting Peace Rocks for all classroom teachers at Geiger. Then on the 19th, the ASB students will make a presentation in each classroom about bullying and it's effects on people. The they will have each class sign a pledge heart to show their support in anti bullying and present a Peace Rock to that class. |

Girls ages 10-13 will have the opportunity to provide ideas and implement those ideas in the workshop held in October for Bullying Awareness Month. The idea behind this session is to allow such a serious issue resonate within our young girls. Unfortunately, bullying has been one of main sources of our youths’ psychological and physical damage. This session will help educate our girls more and possibly encourage them to advocate for ending the bullying cycle. This experience will allow the girls to be engaged, build leadership skills, conflict resolution skills, strategic planning skills, and relationship building. My hope is to build confidence within each girl that may be a target or may be bullying herself. Includes discussions, readings, reflections and break-out sessions. |
