Everyone Deserves A Chance

This is a song I wrote about a friend of mine that was made fun of in middle school. She was and is such a nice and incredible person. It's a shame that kids can be so mean.

She sat on the bleachers
In the corner of the room
Her head hung down in her hands
With kids all around her
At the middle school dance
Nobody noticed her in the stands
At the end of the day
All you need is love
At the end of the day
When push comes to shove
Everyone, everyone deserves a chance
A few extra pounds
got her treated unfairly
She just wanted to fit in
She never got used to
the smirks and remarks
And every day she left cryin'
At the end of the day
All you need is love
At the end of the day
When push comes to shove
Everyone, everyone deserves a chance
Now she’s a doctor, working down at St. Jude, providing hope as best she can.
And when she leaves each evening, she smiles at the children, waving their little hands.
Cause everyone, everyone, everyone deserves a chance
