6 Activities to Help Students Develop Their Take on Bullying Idea!
- Decide which activities to use, all six or a subset
- Determine when to do the activities, all in one lesson or in multiple lessons
- Prepare to share the selected activities with your students, print copies or use another method of your choosing
- Have the students address the questions in activities individually or as a group
- Consider inviting students to share their responses with everyone
SECTION ONE: UNDERSTANDING BULLYING
For students who already have this background, skip ahead to Section 2.
Activity 1:
Outline the challenge
Addresses the question: Why is it important to take on bullying where and when it happens?
After the activity: Decide which responses or themes to share with the group.
Activity 2:
Share your opinion
Addresses the question: What does bullying look like from the students’ perspectives?
After the activity: Tabulate responses, download the Excel document, record amounts and view charts; or use another method of your choosing. Share the results (all or a few highlights).
SECTION TWO: DEVELOP YOUR IDEA
For students who already have their idea(s), skip ahead to Section 3.
Activity 3:
Determine what to take on
Addresses the question: What aspect of bullying do students want to take on?
After the activity: Decide which issue(s) will be selected for Activity 4.
Activity 4:
Brainstorm ideas
Addresses the question: What are some ideas to take on the bullying?
After the activity: Decide which idea(s) will be selected for Activity 5.
SECTION THREE: FINALIZE YOUR IDEA
Activity 5:
Explore the impact
Addresses the question: How will the idea help others?
After the activity: Decide which idea(s) will be selected for Activity 6.
Activity 6:
Make a decision
Addresses the question: Which idea will be submitted?
After the activity: Submit the AMAZING idea!
