PACER Center resources for Latino and Somali families with children with disabilities

PACER Center has created new special education resources for Latino and Somali parents and families of children with autism and other disabilities.

The resources include sets of videos and tip sheets that provide information that will help parents better advocate for their children at school. They give parents a basic understanding of the special education process and address common questions and concerns including how to ask for a special education evaluation, how to prepare for an IEP meeting, and more.

The tip sheets are available in English and Spanish. The videos are available in English, Spanish, and Somali. The new resources are supported by a 16-month grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
