NEW TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

The College Board, a nonprofit developer of standardized tests, has announced that students who receive testing accommodations at their school as part of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan will have the accommodations automatically approved for taking the SAT, the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, the PSAT 10, SAT Subject Tests, and Advanced Placement exams.

ATTENTION TEACHERS:
YOUR STUDENTS CAN BE PART OF THE BULLYING PREVENTION SOLUTION

As part of its “Students with Solutions” campaign, PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center has launched an exciting contest for K-12 classrooms. Four classrooms will be awarded LilGadget headphones for each student, and a pizza party. Other prizes include books, medals, and rolls of DuckTape.  Teachers can enter their students’ art, poetry, stories or graphics in response to watching a new animated video series and engaging in class discussion. The contest closes on January 31, and winners will be announced in February.

MULTICULTURAL RESOURCES FOR TEACHERS AND FAMILIES

PACER is pleased to offer resources for educators, including training videos, research literature, as well as practice guides and tools, to build administrators to bolster communication between home and school, and promote meaningful family engagement. Families will find resources created just for them and translated into Spanish, Somali and Hmong on our Parent Page.
