PACER Center workshop will feature assistive technology for STEAM education in early childhood
Minneapolis: PACER Center will offer “Assistive Technology for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) in Early Childhood,” a free workshop for parents of young children with disabilities and for early childhood professionals. It will take place from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington.
This workshop is also available online via Livestream.
This workshop provides background information about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) in early childhood settings, and information about how assistive technology can play a role in designing inclusive learning activities.
Participants will learn:
- What STEAM looks like in inclusive early childhood settings and the importance of universal design for learning
- How assistive technology can support participation in STEAM activities
- Ideas for implementing example STEAM activities in early childhood settings
