PACER Center workshop will explore effective communication between parents of children with disabilities and IEP team

Minneapolis: PACER Center will offer “How Parents Can Effectively Communicate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team,” a free workshop for parents of children with disabilities on an IEP. The workshop will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Minneapolis.

This new, interactive workshop will help parents build effective communication skills with their child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) team.

Parents will learn how to be effective when advocating for their child at IEP meetings, as well as how to ask clarifying questions or speak up if they disagree with what the school is proposing.

This workshop is funded in part by a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education.

To register to attend this free workshop, contact PACER Center at (952) 838-9000 or (800) 537-2237 (toll free), email, or visit
