PACER Center workshop in Red Wing to explore how an IEP can help children with disabilities make educational progress
Minneapolis: PACER Center will offer “The ABCs of the IEP: A Guide for Minnesota Parents to the Individualized Education Program (IEP),” a free workshop for parents of children with disabilities. The workshop will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at Country Inn and Suites, 4275 Hwy. 61 West, Red Wing.
This workshop will help parents understand how to use the Individualized Education Program (IEP) to benefit their child. Participants will use the PACER booklet “Guide for Minnesota Parents to the IEP” to understand how each required part of the IEP can be developed to meet their child’s needs.
The workshop will address measurable annual goals; progress reports; and direct and indirect services.
Parents will also gain knowledge about how to effectively participate in the annual IEP meeting. They will need to bring a copy of their child’s most recent school special education evaluation report and their child’s current IEP.
