Third annual MN PIRC dinner and conference to celebrate parents
MN PIRC is offering “Welcoming, Honoring, and Connecting,” a free conference to help parents learn new ways to support their children’s education and a free dinner celebrating parents’ dedication to helping their children succeed in school. Both events are at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, MN. Advance registration is required. Limited stipends are available for child care and travel. Participants can attend one or both events.
- The dinner, on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., celebrates parents’ involvement in their children’s education.
- The conference, on Friday, Oct. 23, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. features an inspiring keynote presentation by Minnesota Rep. Mindy Greiling and informative breakout sessions:
- Learn How to Make Your Voice Heard – Parent Involvement in School Decision-making
- Finding Books Kids Want to Read
- Partnering for School Success
- Positive Behavior Strategies
