PACER Center workshops address legal planning for people with disabilities
PACER Center is offering “Life Planning for Persons with Disabilities,” two free workshops for people with disabilities and their families. The workshops are Thursday, May 7, and Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Both sessions are 7 to 9 p.m., at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, Minn. Participants may attend either or both sessions. Advance registration is requested.
The workshops feature guest speakers Daryll Stenberg, from Life Planning for Persons with Disabilities, and attorney Robert Gunderson or Amy Dawson.
Topics will include:
- May 7: Guardianship
- May 19: Health care power of attorney, health care living wills, long-term-care issues, probate, revocable living trusts, supplemental needs trusts, and wills
Each family that attends is invited to receive a free, two-hour consultation from Life Planning for Persons with Disabilities to discuss how a comprehensive life plan could work in their situation.
To register for the workshops, call PACER at 952-838-9000 or 952-838-0190 (TTY). In Greater Minnesota, call 800-537-2237 (toll free) or visit PACER.org.
