PACER offers assistive technology Webinar series
PACER Center is offering “Minnesota Assistive Technology (AT) Webinar Series,” a free opportunity for parents of children with disabilities and professionals to learn how AT can promote inclusion and learning.
All sessions are on Tuesdays from 1 to 3:30 p.m., central time. Registration is required for individual sessions. Minnesota residents who attend at least three of the last four live Webinars will receive a free membership to the Simon Technology Center library.
April 7: Webinar 101: How to Attend and Navigate a Webinar
Learn how to participate in Webinars and gain an overview of the rest of this series. You may attend from your computer via the Web or from a facilitated session at one of three locations: PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, MN; People Achieving Change Through Technology (PACTT), 310 Elton Hills Dr. NW, Rochester, MN; and United Cerebral Palsy UCP

May 5: What Parents and Professionals Need to Know about AT
Learn about the range of AT devices and the relevant legal requirements under
the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Get tips on selecting
effective AT solutions.

May 19: How to Consider AT in the Individualized Education Program (IEP)
Learn about IDEA’s requirement to consider AT for students with an IEP;
gain an overview of the Minnesota manual that explains the consideration
process; and discover state and local resources that can help you try, acquire,
and fund AT. Register
June 2: AT for Reading, Writing, and Math
Watch demonstrations, learn about relevant Internet resources, and
find technology vendor links.

June 16: Building Capacity for AT
Learn how to develop deeper knowledge about AT and find regional
and state resources that answer frequently asked questions.
