MN PIRC offers parents’ guide to school success workshop

MN PIRC is offering “A Parents’ Guide to School Success,” a free workshop for parents of children in public school. It is on Thursday, April 16, 2009, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, Minn. Registration is required.

Families can find tips and online resources to support their child’s learning throughout the summer.

Parents who can’t attend the workshop are invited to an open session with a parent involvement special who can answer questions and introduce them to online tools such as school report cards, academic resources, enrichment opportunities, and more. The open hours are 5 to 7 p.m. at PACER on Thursday, April 30.

For more information or to register, please contact Minnesota Parent Center, MN PIRC, at 952-838-9000 or 952-838-0190 (TTY). In Greater Minnesota, call 800-537-2237 (toll free) or visit the Minnesota Parent Center Web site at PACER.org/MPC/workshops.asp.

The Minnesota Parent Center is Minnesota’s Parental Information and Resource Center (MN PIRC), a project of PACER Center. It is a federally funded project that works statewide to build effective parental involvement in schools.
