PACER offers family leadership summit for parents of young children with disabilities

PACER Center is offering “Early Childhood Family Leadership Summit 2009,” a free event for Minnesota parents of young children with special needs or health concerns who serve (or would like to serve) on Interagency Early Intervention Committees (IEICs). It is on Saturday, April 25, 2009, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, Minn. Advance registration by April 10 is required.

Parents will have an opportunity to network with other parents, enhance leadership skills, and learn how to influence public policy for young children with disabilities.

For more information and to register for the workshop, call Judy Swett at PACER Center, 952-838-9000 or 952-838-0190 (TTY). In Greater Minnesota, call 800-537-2237 (toll free) or visit PACER.org.

PACER Center is a parent center for families of children and young adults with any disability. PACER provides individual assistance, workshops, publications, and other resources to help families make decisions about education and other services for their child or young adult with disabilities.
