PACER Center workshop addresses No Child Left Behind ActER workshop on children’s mental health issues
PACER Center is offering “No Child Left Behind,” a free workshop for parents of children with disabilities and the professionals who work with them. It is on Thursday, April 2, 2009, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Civic Center, 101 E. Main St., Mankato, Minn. Advance registration is requested.
Participants will gain information on the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and what it means for Minnesota children with disabilities who are in special education.
Workshop topics include:
- Inclusion of children with disabilities in required testing
- Questions to ask that may improve outcomes for children with disabilities
- Supplemental education services (tutoring)
- State report cards on schools
- NCLB requirements for schools in Minnesota
