EX.I.T.E. Camp Applications Are Due May 1
PACER Center’s EX.I.T.E. Camp (EXploring Interests in Technology and Engineering) is accepting applications for its August 2009 session. Applications are due May 1.
The free day camp encourages middle-school girls with disabilities to explore, discover, create, and challenge themselves to investigate the world around them with technology. Campers learn through hands-on experiments, meet new people, hear professionals with disabilities talk about their success in technology fields, and more.
The day camp, held at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, Minn., runs for five days in August. It is sponsored in part by IBM and local technology companies.
To obtain a schedule and application, call PACER at 952-838-9000 or 952-838-0190 (TTY). In Greater Minnesota, call 800-537-2237 (toll free) or visit PACER.org/stc/exite/Camp.asp.
PACER Center is a parent center for families of children and young adults with any disability. PACER provides individual assistance, workshops, publications, and other resources to help families make decisions about education and other services for their child or young adult with disabilities.
