PACER Center workshop focuses on transition planning for youth with disabilities
PACER Center is offering “Focus on Transition,” a free workshop for parents of transition-age youth with disabilities. It is on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Anoka-Hennepin Staff Development Center, 2727 N. Ferry St., Anoka, Minn. Advance registration is requested.
This workshop will help parents understand the importance of planning for their young adult’s future employment and independent living. Topics include:
- Transition legislation
- Five transition areas
- How to gather information about their young adult’s interests, preferences, strengths, and challenges
