MN PIRC offers parents’ guide to school success workshop series
MN PIRC is offering “A Parents’ Guide to School Success,” a free workshop series for parents of children in public school. The workshops are on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at PACER Center, 8161 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, Minn. Registration is required. Participants may attend either or both of the following:
- A Parents' Guide to No Child Left Behind, March 12
This workshop will show parents how to review school accountability information and use it to make decisions about their children’s education. - A Parents' Guide to Summer Learning, April 16
Families can find tips and online resources to support their child’s learning throughout the summer.
Parents who can’t attend the workshops are invited to open sessions with a parent involvement special who can answer questions and introduce them to online tools such as school report cards, academic resources, enrichment opportunities, and more. Open hours are 5 to 7 p.m. at PACER on the following Thursdays: March 26 and April 30.
